Job Title: Functional Specialist - Risk and Profit Loss IT

Overview:

Our key challenges are to provide industry leading technology solutions for a business which is growing market share but undergoing radical changes to the way derivatives are traded due to regulatory and electronic pressures and fierce competition from our rivals who aspire to emulate our market leading position.

Key projects include improving the performance of our systems under increasing trade volumes, adding and augmenting existing valuation models such as SABR and stochastic rates, extending our product coverage, on-boarding new businesses, improving our risk scenario tools as well as meeting regulatory requirements for CVA, RWA and VAR risks.

Projects may be software engineering or business focused depending on the skills of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

* Complete and elaborate technical software design (high level design) in accordance with solution designed by solution architect and documentation of the same.

* Analyse business requirements documentation received from Domain Management.

* Formulate and create functional specification documentation, in close working with Business Analysts, Application Owners and Solution Architects.

* Analyse technical project requirements documents received from Application Management, for functional impacts.

* Creates and modifies business-facing documentation (e.g. user manuals, solution briefs, functional summaries).

* Supports testing on behalf of users, operations, and testing teams potentially including test plans, test cases, test-data and review of interface testing, between different applications, when required.

* Work with application developers to resolve functional issues from UATs, and to help find solutions for various functional difficulty areas.

* Works closely with business analysts detail proposed solutions and solution maintenance.

* Work with Application Management area for functional area trouble shooting and resolution to reported bugs / issues on applications

People Management

* Actively supports the GTO strategy, plans and values, contributing to the achievement of a high performance culture. Personally contributes in an environment where people development is the number one priority.

* Takes ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution.

* Acts as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment.

* Highlights performance issues within the team, where appropriate, to drive for high performance

You will have:

* Experience of Investment Banking and FO interaction on PL and Risk Systems.

* Track record of successful project delivery and business analysis in the derivatives risk space.

* People management skills, coordination leadership.

* AGILE experience.

* Relevant experience in IT

* High analytical capabilities

* Proven communication skills

* Influencing capabilities

* Profound knowledge of methods and tools for functional specifications

* Able to quickly grasp new contexts

* Basic knowledge of technical aspects including middle wares

* Used to working to tight deadlines

* Identifying and escalating problems at an early stage

* Flexibility and willingness to work autonomously

* Self motivated within set competencies in a team and fast paced environments

* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

* Fluent in English (written/verbal)

* Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Science or an IT-related discipline (or equivalent)
