Job Description:
We are an international private equity Fund of Funds with approx. $5 billion in assets under management. Our Santa Monica location is currently seeking a Fund Operations Analyst (FOA) to join the operations team.
This is an ideal position for a motivated individual that is looking to work in a stable environment with growth potential. We seek someone who is dynamic and comfortable managing multiple tasks at once. Overall, the incumbent will assist with all aspects of the administration of the Funds and will act as a contact with custodian banks, investors and management. It is expected that the successful incumbent will perform job functions with a heightened sense of urgency and diligence to ensure required deadlines are satisfied. The FOA will be expected to evaluate and standardize existing processes across the funds, as well as think and act in a strategic and innovative way to help ensure the operational model remains effective and efficient as our business continues to grow and change.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain fund cash balances and monitor daily cash activity ensuring differences/issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner
- Perform daily cash analysis and recommend the need to call capital from and distribute to investors (i.e. prepare cash position and forecast reports)
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for assigned funds
- Execute capital calls and distributions underlying investments in a timely manner
- Responsible for posting activity to the general ledger, coordinating payment of expenses and maintaining supporting documentation
- Ensure that appropriate accounting treatment for all transactions is applied
- Respond and resolve investor and investment queries in relation to administrative issues
- Perform daily ad hoc projects as requested by management
- Assist Investor Relations in the maintenance of accurate contact information for all investors and investments
- Assist with other fund administration, such as data entry, scanning, and filing documents
- Assist in the quarterly client reporting process
- Assist with year end audit and tax projects
- May prepare and maintain documentation of system and process controls and procedures; able to analyze controls and processes and recommend improvements where needed
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related area
- 1 - 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Client service skills and high level of professionalism are a must
- Excellent quantitative and computing skills which includes proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; Knowledge of SunGard Investran a plus
- Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, timeliness and excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize various duties throughout the day is required
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
