Funds Derivatives Lawyer
Your Main Responsibilities will include
* Negotiating/Drafting - be responsible for drafting and negotiating Investment Management Agreements, Prospectuses, ancillary fund documentation, Side letters, Amendment Agreements, ISDA Master Agreement, Repo Master Agreements, Securities Lending Agreement and Prime Brokerage documentation with limited supervision.
* Ownership - responsible for acting as key point person for all stakeholders with regards to allocated workflow.
* File Management - maintain accurate and up to date soft and hard copy files.
* Time Management - responsible for progressing matters, resolving negotiation deadlocks, co-ordinating multiple stakeholders to resolve issues and progressing matters to conclusion.
* Advisory - advising internal stakeholders on legal implications of proposed amendments to template documents with minimal guidance.
* Escalation - ensure negotiation deadlocks and non-receipt of constitutional documents are escalated in good time to avoid unnecessary delays.
* Client Management - manage client expectations at all times.
* Workflow Management - maintain system workflow tools to provide visibility of the actual status of matters to the business at all times
* Technical - provide training to members of the team when requested or thought beneficial
To negotiate the full range of fund documentation which may include Investment Management Agreements, Prospectuses, ancillary fund documentation, Side letters, Amendment Agreements and Prime Brokerage documentation.
* Supervision - Supervise workflow of the team by organising and attending the weekly prioritization meetings with the Business and thereafter, advising the team of expected actions and deliverables. Maintaining daily whiteboard meetings to discuss workflow and assist in managing capacity. Making Line Manager aware of team capacity issues and seeking support for the team where required with regards to complex workflow
Education/Experience
* The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Lawyer with approximately 3 years + pqe negotiating English law financial contracts, including the above mentioned documents.
* Experience ideally should have been gained at any one or a combination of a leading law firm, financial services company, hedge fund or asset management company.
* Fluent in English (written and oral)
* Strong mathematical background is recommended
