FX Treasury Controller (Associate) recruitment

The Glasgow Finance Division helps senior management and its individual business units manage the firm’s risk by implementing financial controls over our business activities. The division is crucial to safeguarding the firm’s franchise, reporting on current performance, and evaluating business opportunities.

FX Treasury Controllers:

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time role within the team.  The successful individual will be primarily responsible for performing daily and monthly hedging controls and investigations, which confirm the effective hedging of currency exposures.  They will also be expected to contribute significantly to the reporting and investigation of Treasury FX Reval PL, and developing methodologies to make that process more effective and efficient.  

Process Responsibilities:

• Preparing monthly position account reconciliations and identifying unhedged exposure at a legal entity level
• Assist with investigation and resolution of daily breaks and hedging differences
• Investigation and reporting of revaluation PL
• Regular liaison with Global Product Controllers, Legal Entity Controllers and NY Treasury Controllers to facilitate the resolution of  issues and timely, effective hedging
• Working with other team members to provide core FX data for analysis
• Learning and understanding the responsibilities of other team members to be able to provide cover when required
• Answering ad hoc queries from Global Product and Legal Entity Controller groups
• Understanding the impact of changing hedge strategies for cost centres, accounts and currencies

Skills Required :
The individual would require the following skills:
- Good analytical skills, the ability to process and understand information from varying sources and systems
- An ability to see the bigger picture and quickly contextualize process knowledge
- Ability to plan and execute against tight timeframes  
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong IT skills -  Excel and Omega essential
- Numerate and good attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills

Skills Desired :
- Ideally, qualified accountant – CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
