About us

Gazprom Marketing Trading Limited (GMT) is a UK-registered wholly-owned subsidiary of the Gazprom Group, accounting for 17% of the world’s total natural gas reserves and for about 70% of natural gas reserves in Russia. GMT is headquartered in London and was established in 1999 to manage Gazprom's marketing and trading activities in the liberalised markets of Europe. 

GMT is responsible for the optimisation of Gazprom’s energy commodity assets and downstream expansion through its marketing and trading network. With subsidiaries in Houston, Singapore, Paris, Berlin and Manchester, GMT trades energy commodities including gas, power, oil and oil products, carbon, LNG and FX. GMT has been trading financial oil products on a number of exchanges since 2006 and can now offer 24-hour coverage of the market between Singapore, London and Houston.

Role objectives

This position is responsible for supporting the development and management of gas market analysis activities for the Gazprom Marketing Trading (GMT) business in London. The key objective of this role is to enable the expansion of the GMT business worldwide by providing effective analysis and modelling. The role will involve working as part of the Gas Market Analysis team which supports the Gas Traders. The successful candidate will have an important part to play in producing top quality analytics, targeted directly at producing commercial decisions.

Duties Responsibilities

• Design and develop decision-support analysis, tools and models that suport profitable trading

• Support trading decisions by providing ad hoc trading analysis

• Work as part of a team to deliver operational reporting

• Enhance and build the team by sharing new information and tools.

Experience 

• Developed models that have contributed to trading PL

• Understanding of statistics is highly regarded

• Experience of using SQL to develop analysis is essential

• Experience of working in a trading team is required

• Ideally the successful candidate will have a reasonable working knowledge of European gas markets; other commodities exposure will be valued.

Education

• Must hold a minimum 2.1 degree in a numerate discipline, for example engineering, finance, mathematics or physics

• Should demonstrate commitment to continued learning.
