POSITION General Accountant
DEPARTMENT Finance
REPORTS TO Controller
PRIMARY FUNCTION Manages the daily cash and reconciles retail activities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the Store Credit Card Sales/Receivable, disputes and chargebacks
- Responsible for Monthly Close of Sales Audit and generating EOM reports
- Responsible for the Accounting of Consignment Sales
- Oversees the Accounting of Foreign goods
- Responsible for the timely preparation and filing of Sales/Use Tax Return
- Responsible for the preparation and the timely submission of Unclaimed Property Reports to the State of California
- Publishes the Store’s daily Flash Sales Reports
- Responsible for numerous MTD/YTD reports and statistics at month-end
- Prepares daily borrowing request
- Responsible for the Reconciliation of the following GL Accounts -
- Credit Card Receivables (Diners/CB, American Express and Master Card/Visa
- Merchandise Voucher
- Gift Card
- Gift Certificates
- Sales Audit Clearing Account
- Capitalized Freight
- Consignment
- Credit Card and Bad Check Rejects and Reserve
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency with Excel and Word required
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Retail finance experience a plus
- B.S. Degree in Finance or related field
