General Ledger Team Leader

Our client, a large multinational manufacturing organisation with operations around the globe, are looking for a General Ledger Team Leader to join their Manchester based Business Service Centre.
Working as part of the Record to Report team, you will be responsible for the daily management and supervision of a small team of associates, and for the delivery of quality and timely month end closure of the GL under IFRS.

You will lead the monthly, quarterly and year end process, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and all deadlines are met without compromising the integrity of the data and analysis. Ensuring compliance with both internal and external reporting standards.

In a working environment of continual improvement, you will be constantly reviewing processes and controls with a view to improving efficiency, quality of output and financial control in line with reporting requirements, whilst supporting your team and the management with continuous improvement projects.

You will be accountable for compliance controls throughout the GL and ensuring these meet internal/external audit standards, and as such will support the R2R lead during quarterly and annual audits, assisting in any audit query resolution.

You will be an experienced Financial Accountant, with team management and relationship building skills to be able to communicate both up and down within a matrix organisation. You will be naturally proactive in seeking ways to develop working processes and procedures to uphold and improve current standards.

You will have strong technical financial and analytical skills ideally gained in a large multinational or shared service environment, and preferably with a working knowledge of SAP.
