The Operations division is both the first line of defence for protecting Morgan Stanley's financial and reputational well-being, and an essential partner contributing to the firm's growth. Facing off to all Morgan Stanley businesses and interacting with all other parts of the Firm, the Operations division supports a complex, multi-faceted portfolio of businesses in full compliance with regulatory guidelines and the directives of the Operating Committee and Board of Directors. Members of the Operations team have a unique vantage point as the division touches all parts of the business, front to back. ISG Product Operations is a world-class global team of dedicated professionals, performing myriad functions, all with a common purpose: to manage Morgan Stanley's Clearing and Trading Client operational processes and deliver value to our clients in a controlled and efficient way. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external. ISG Product Operations encompasses two functionally aligned organizations. The first, Trading Client Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support of activity executed by Institutional Sales Trading. The second, Clearing Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support for activity cleared by Morgan Stanley on behalf of our clients in Prime Brokerage, Listed Derivatives, and OTC Derivatives.  

 

We are recruiting for a Director level candidate (AVP equivalent) to work on Listed Derivatives Trade Processing projects within the Clearing Project Group. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Listed Derivatives Trade Processing initiatives (Mandatory, New Business and Platform Renovation projects) and will be responsible for interfacing with the Business Units, Legal and Compliance, Technology teams, and upstream and downstream processing groups. Key functional areas covered include Clearing, Expiry, Accounting, and Pairing. A background in Listed Derivatives products and functions (Futures and/or Options) is advantageous.

 

Key responsibilities include:
-Data gathering and business analysis.
-Liaising with Business Units, Legal and Compliance, Operations, and IT across multiple areas to gather requirements and assist in strategic project scoping and planning.
-Liaising with IT colleagues to ensure development requirements are understood by the IT development teams.
-Liaising with IT and users to plan, test and implement technology changes.
-Test planning and execution.
-Developing and maintaining project plans.
-Tracking progress and providing regular status updates.
-Developing training packs/ aids to support roll-outs to user groups.

Skills Required:
-Experience in successful project management and the delivery lifecycle for technology driven projects is critical
-Ability to produce business requirements using analytical skills across different user groups
-Strong organisational and process improvement skills
-Strong analytic and problem solving skills; ability to learn quickly and solves poorly defined problems
-Ability to develop strong relationships and personal credibility with the users and understands how their needs/requirements can be incorporated into the delivery of the solution.
-Ability to operate in an environment of ambiguity by quickly adapting behavior and work methods to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
-A self-starter and highly motivated; ability to work individually and within a team.
-Experience in financial services and listed derivatives product knowledge is preferred.
