General Manager

Hays Senior Finance are currently looking to recruit a General Manager to work for a leading Investment Business. Responsible for delivering all aspects of the project from construction through to end-to-end delivery, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery and operation of the contract obligations. This entails developing effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders, whilst being accountable for the financial performance of the project ensuring that procedures are in place to avoid penalties and opportunities to enhance project values are identified.

In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must have extensive PFI/PPP and MAS experience, and be comfortable managing complex projects projects, whilst taking a commercial approach to the management of contracts/contractors. With direct reporting responsibility to the Board, you must have the gravitas to present information in a professional manner.

Knowledge Experience required include:
· Senior level management responsibility for financial staff performance
· Experience of construction and exposure to high value capital projects
· Contract negotiation and operation
· Knowledge of PFI/PPP projects
· Financial awareness and the ability to understand budgets and project accounts
· Asset management or property portfolio experience useful
· Working in a client focussed environment
· Experience reporting at Board Level
Membership of a relevant Professional Institution would be ideal but is not essential.
