General Manager / BCI1022

Position Description:

Nexlink Global Services is seeking an experienced General Manager. The General Manager will oversee operations of facilities, warehouse, fleet, reporting, safety and training daily procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Oversee business financials and provide reporting to management
• Supervise lower level managers, warehouse, field personnel
• Responsible for maintaining building facilities, fleet, equipment
• Assist business development and management teams with initiatives/projects as assigned
• Direct work to meet customer and company specifications
• Ensure that company policy is adhered to with respect to, but not limited to, safety, fleet, etc.
• Monitor the performance and achievements of the employees
• Travel, as required, for job related functions
• Assist with work overflow
• Responsible for all safety, schedule and quality issues
• Establish and manage all aspects of the Local Office operations to ensure annual profit targets are achieved
• Provide all sales-related functions to our local customers to ensure annual sales targets are achieved
• Provide hands-on project management for all projects
• Establish/monitor/manage annual capital expenditure for vehicles, tools and equipment
• Establish/monitor/manage annual budgets and forecast reports
• Establish/monitor/manage monthly budget updates and profit and loss forecasts as required
• Establish/manage weekly and quarterly Local Office Safety Meetings, per established procedures
• Establish/manage weekly operations meetings
• Ensure compliance with BCI Communications, Inc./UniTek Global Services Safety Policy and applicable local Codes and Standards
• Provide discipline Field and Salaried Associates as required for violations of work practices, safety and quality standards violations
• Provide recognition to Field and Salaried Associates for outstanding achievements as required
• Evaluate and select local subcontractors in accordance with established procedures, the applicable Codes and Standards and customer needs
• Establish/direct operating procedures within the Local Office in accordance with established guidelines and procedures
• Establish/manage roles and responsibilities for all Local Office Field and Salaried Associates
• Employ management methods to ensure high morale and professional standards
• Perform hiring functions, annual performance appraisals and merit increase recommendations for Local Office Field and Salaried Associates
• Establish and arrange to provide adequate training for all Local Office Associates
• Establish and manage manpower requirements
• Establish and maintain accurate records and maintenance of all vehicles, tools and equipment assets located in the Local Office
• Approve/monitor Field and Salaried Associates to payroll and per diem advances
• Approve/direct purchasing of supplies and small tools as required and within established guidelines and budget for the local office
• Approve/direct/monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable procedures and purchases within established guidelines
• Sell products and services to all prospective BCI Communications, Inc./UniTek Global Services customers to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction
• Perform and record customer visits, entertainment and attend sales conventions as required
• Provide customer follow-up for: general inquiries, feedback on ongoing and completed projects as required
• Evaluate industry trends, potential customers, forecast sales and standard product requirements
• Preparation and perform presentations in accordance with customer needs and BCI Communications, Inc./UniTek Global Services commercial standards
• Establish sales and marketing strategies for the Local Office in cooperation with the Regional VP, Director of Operations and Corporate Sales Team (Regional Account Executive)
• Maintain supplies of promotional literature
• Provide quotation follow-up, evaluation of win/loss patterns, monthly/annual sales forecast and prepare reports as required
• Recommend material markup and labor discounts as applicable
• Determine which products and services will be subcontracted and when within guidelines set by the Regional VP
• Review Engineering designs, drawings and project specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements
• Complete local estimates and tender submittal packages
• Implements the working terms of the project contract
• Initiates projects, including identifying and analyzing preliminary needs, budget considerations, time and resource estimates and defining the project scope and objectives
• Identifies the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of project team members in relation to resource requirements for specific project tasks
• Provides direction and structure for the project, establishing clear and precise foals and objectives and establishing a logical objective basis for timeframes and budgets
• Establish, manage and communicate the project schedule to customers, subcontractors and Local Office project team members
• Tracks and manages the project budget
• Establishes and applies program level processes to ensure an efficient project implementation
• Acts as the primary project level interface to daily customer issues and updates
• Directs the project team, manages the work effort and tracks the progress against the project plan
• Conducts periodic project reviews with Customer, Program Manager, Branch Manager and other stake holders
• Directs and supports the Installation Supervisor/Foreman in job priorities and job completion
• Evaluates project, results and closes the project by getting final customer sign-off
• Conducts ‘lesson-learned’ project post mortem evaluation and documents results
• Supervise field activities to successfully implement all projects on site
• Establish/monitor installation schedules and delivery priorities
• Monitor/direct project overhead and operating costs to ensure profitability
• Interface and cooperate with other Branches as required, including providing supports for specific projects or provision of manpower and equipment

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• 5+ years of wireless industry experience
• Strong wireless construction experience, specific to the area
• Strong financial acumen
• Strong understanding of Selling, General and Administrative Expenses (SGA), Profit and Loss Statement (PL)

• Demonstrated expertise in management skills
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Present professional image at all times
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Project, Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of JDE would be an asset, but not required
• PMP or equivalent experience in project management required

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
