General Practitioner (GP Doctor)
Hays are working with The Ministry of Defence to recruit a GP to work with the Royal Air Force at their base in Bury St Edmunds.
The job itself is working for the MoD as a civilian medical practitioner, where you will be required to work in the medical centre on the barracks. You will be responsible for providing first-rate care to service personnel. Duties will include on-site pharmacy dispensing, occupational health care, immunisations, travel advice, preparation for deployment, health promotion, and care of in-patients with minor illness or post operative needs.
You must be registered with the General Medical Council both on the main register and on the GMC GP register; You must also have medical insurance and be on a PCT Performers List.
Desirable Requirements:
Experience of working within military general practice/ British Forces Germany Health Service.
Familiar with the EMIS PCS/ Defence Medical Information Capability Programme.
Provide military occupational medicine advice, and be able to take part in medical boards, release medical etc.
