Geologist - Mineral Resource or Mineral reserves

Senior Geologist or Mining Engineer - MRMR (Mineral Resources Mineral Reserves - Mississauga or Sudbury
The MRMR Geologist or Mining Engineer will provide technical support (guidance, assistance, and training upon request) to Vale Base Metals operations and projects in the field of geostatistics, simulation, resources modeling and or mines engineering and mineral reserves estimate. Contribute to the continuous improvement of mines engineering planning, scheduling and optimization practices.
This position can be based in either Mississauga or Sudbury, ON.
Accountabilities:
- Technical support, guidance and assistance to all Vale Base Metals operations and projects in geostatistics, simulation, and mine optimization
- Perform geological and mineral resources /reserves due diligence assessments to maximize value for Base Metals
- Keep abreast on mineral resources and mineral estimation standards and practices and make recommendations to improve Base Metals mineral resources and mineral reserves estimation techniques -
- Role is equivalent to external consultants specialized in mineral resource estimation and mines engineering processes.
- Contribute to the validation of all Base Metal Ni, Cu, mineral resources and mineral reserves including by-products.
- The incumbent will be required to visit Vale Base Metals mine sites and provide one on one training to local mine engineer or mine geologist in the field of geostatistics, mineral resource estimations and mine optimization.
Education:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An Undergraduate Degree (Mining or Geology)
- Professional registration to a geoscientist or engineering professional association accepted recognized by National Instrument 43-101.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years experience related to geostatistics, resources estimation, simulation and or mine optimization is required
Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of geostatistics.
- Working knowledge of mineral resources.
- Working knowledge of mine optimization software.
- Working knowledge of mineral resources simulation.
