GIPS Vice President
This individual will be part of the APSG – Investment Services Global GIPS Team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the firm's GIPS compliant composite universe. This position will involve coordination within the Global GIPS Team, as well as with Investment Teams, Client Teams, and other groups within APSG to ensure that client requests are handled efficiently and effectively and that composites are complete and accurate. In addition, this individual will be expected to maintain the composite systems and follow the firm's GIPS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GIPS.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the GIPS BAU process
- Respond to all GIPS related inquiries in a timely fashion
- Provide Investment Teams/Client Teams with quality composite reporting/solutions
- Review new accounts and respective guidelines, updates to accounts (guideline updates, benchmark changes) and terminated accounts for composite impact and confirm with Investment Teams
- Review composites quarterly with Investment Teams to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Update GIPS marketing materials maintained by the Global GIPS team and assist in compilation of composite lists
- Interact with auditors for the annual GIPS audit and provide requested materials in an efficient manner
- Coordinate with the Performance Measurement teams to maintain return data in composite system, to resolve data discrepancies and to ensure accuracy of GIPS related data
- Work with management to develop meaningful metrics for monitoring/measuring GIPS responsibilities
- Identify ways to develop and improve the GIPS process
Skills Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, with at least 7 years' experience in the Financial Industry
- Knowledge of GIPS and performance preferred
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to identify problems and offer solutions
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Excel
- Able to work independently on assigned tasks and assume additional responsibilities with appropriate guidance
- Demonstrate confidence when interacting with clients, within the scope of your role and with appropriate guidance
- Able to work effectively with others in a team environment with diverse approaches and thinking styles
