GIS Developer Job in England, London Uk
Job Description - GIS Developer / GIS Consultant / ESRI / ArcGIS required for developing GIS solutions for the oil and gas industry. This role would suit an experienced GIS Developer who has expertise in ESRI products including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server and ArcObjects. All round GIS knowledge and other information system technologies would be an advantage.
C#, VB.Net, SQL server and Web development skills are required to develop against ArcGIS desktop and ArcGIS server products. Experience in Python would be an advantage.
You should have a degree in GIS, Computer Science or Earth Sciences and excellent communication skills to work with customers and development team colleagues. Mathematical numerical and geometrical analytical skills are preferred.
Other requirements include:
• Five or more years of programming experience with Java, C/C++, C# and .NET
• Experience using ArcGIS software and developing with ArcGIS Silverlight API, ArcGIS Server Javascript API and WebADF.
• Experience developing rich Internet application (RIA) clients with Flex and/or Silverlight technologies.
• Experience of Component Object Modeling (COM) architectures.
• Experience of relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle.
• Database modelling experience
• Technical experience with ESRI product suite including ArcGIS Server Technologies (ArcSDE) and ArcGIS Desktop, along with ArcObjects development experience.
• Solid software development experience in the .Net Framework with C# or VB.Net.
• Solid understanding of OO / Object Oriented Design and Development methodologies along with UML.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
