Global AM Product Specialist recruitment
This person is responsible for broad based sales and client servicing across all AQ products (including single hedge funds and fund of hedge funds) Asia ex-Japan.
Client types will include all types of Institutions (insurance, pension, government, corporates, fund of funds, distributors, consultants) as well as UBS Wealth Management
The person will be expected to pro-actively work with colleagues from Global AM as well as Wealth Management and Investment Banking.
The person will be expected to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain to colleagues and a wide variety of clients complex products and concepts in a suitable manner.
The person will be expected to spend a considerable amount of time travelling within the region and occasionally outside the region.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive in depth understanding of Alternative Quantitative Investments (AQ) products and capabilities
- Identify suitable prospects, raise assets and service existing clients
- Work closely with and leverage Global AM business development teams
- Provide support to client relationship and servicing teams
- Leverage other parts of UBS distribution such as Wealth Management and Investment Banking
- Proactively work and communicate with AQ colleagues in APAC and globally
- Keep a proper record of dealings and meetings with clients and prospects
- Maintain a high level of current industry and product knowledge
- Proactively ensure that clients are fully informed about their investments and related issues
- Stay current on client service related initiatives and work with Investor Services to communicate requirements or changes to existing materials or processes
Requirements
- 7-10 years financial experience; ideally including over 3-5 years HF experience
- Ideally 5 years or more client facing experience with a variety of client types
- Strong language skills (English, Mandarin, Cantonese) and written (English, Chinese)
- Strong communication skills in personal meetings and in presentations
- Ability to quickly understand and respond to client needs
- Pro-active and forward thinking
- Ability to work well under pressure, with autonomy and with limited local resources and support
- Ability to effectively work with and utilise existing skills regionally and globally
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
