Global Business Services (GBS) is vital to the way we run our business. The global marketplace is constantly evolving, and being adaptable, deliberate and precise in action is critical to safeguarding shareholder value. With sound financial principles at the core of everything we offer, GBS oversees all financial details of Deutsche Bank, globally.
Key Responsibilities
As a Product Controller in this area you will be responsible for:
- Work in team of 4 based in Sydney which has responsibility for PL and risk validation for GFFX businesses as well as onshore PL production for Rates Cross Asset Trading
- Daily liaison with PL production team based in Manila. Effective management of the relationship with the production team
- Ensure connectivity between daily PL and all downstream functions, a key relationship between within GBS with the FINCON team
- Preparation of Consolidated Front Office daily PL report for GFFX businesses
- Front Office and other stakeholder management, ensuring that deliverables are prioritised and service requirements are met
- Work with management and the team to prioritise and implement tactical projects with appropriate resourcing
- Assist in internal and external audit enquiries and follow up corrective action where required in a timely manner
- Provide input for new product approvals for new markets and products traded within Rates and GFFX ensuring that infrastructure, risk and PL reporting are accurately captured
- Possible further development in this role to cover across GCT business at a future point in time
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in debt derivatives product control in a top tier investment bank
- Degree qualified and an accounting qualification would be highly desirable
- Strong technical knowledge, including PL attribution and good understanding of markets and financial products
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to face off to senior GBS and Front Office management and deal with a diverse range of personnel
- Analytical and a quick learner, able to break down and understand complex environments and systems
- Role model with professional approach, personally represents value and trusts in relationships and holds others accountable to them
- Flexible in approach to managing tasks and responsibilities and has the ability to take ownership of issues to resolution in what can be a pressurised environment
- Good attention to detail, takes structured and prioritised approach to tasks
- Ability to think strategically, is solution focussed and can influence others to work in a similar way
