Global Financial Services Practice: Senior Consultant, Capital Markets / Cash Equity

The client is a global management consulting firm. In North America, they focus on retail and consumer products, health care, financial services and informa­tion technology.

 

As the financial services industry faces the challenges of a new economy and a host of regulatory reforms, their Global Financial Services Practice provides advice and executional assistance to the world’s leading banks, investment and asset managers, consumer finance firms and insurance companies. As part of our team, you will help top-tier financial services firms improve their strategy, governance, operations and information systems.

 

Successful senior consultants demonstrate exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and creative thinking skills. They receive both formal and on-the-job training and ramp up quickly as integral members of the Financial Services Practice.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

Lead project work-stream under management;

Manage junior consultant(s) on projects;

Perform research and analysis, including conducting client interviews to gather input, synthesizing the findings, and formulating an assessment;

Develop and deliver presentations to clients;

Articulate possible scenarios and recommendations;

Formulate and formalize proposed solution;

Implement solutions;

Mentor junior staff members;

Develop and enhance client relationships;

Support business development activities such as drafting and presenting client proposals;

Support practice-building activities such as development of service offerings, research, marketing and recruiting.

 

Who we're looking for:

 

Bachelor’s degree, an MBA is a plus and 4 – 8 years of experience in the financial services industry (Big Four or top tier management consulting experience desired). 2+ years in Strategy, Organization and Management Consulting or relevant internal project experience. Good general knowledge of the Capital Markets industry and financial instruments. Strong focus on Cash Equity products and operational trade flows. Experience working with Front-Office, Middle-Office, Back-Office and / or Risk department in Capital Market firms. Highly structured, hypothesis-driven thought process. Good experience in writing and reengineering business processes. Proficient in project management methodologies. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluent in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word. CFA, CPA, Lean, 6 Sigma, PMP or other relevant certifications a plus; desire to pursue certifications a plus.
