Global Compliance Regulatory Management

Global Compliance Regulatory Management plays a critical role in the successful execution of the firm's compliance mission. The Compliance function ensures the development and maintenance of a strong compliance culture by developing and maintaining a program infrastructure that identifies, measures and monitors compliance with applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern our business globally. Compliance teams work closely with business, legal, risk, and audit functions to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters, assess and measure compliance and related risks, and monitor and test the adequacy of the firm's compliance control environment.

The Compliance Practices group within Global Compliance Regulatory Management is responsible for the design and governance of common standards and practices to be used across the global Compliance organization. Such practices include a common approach and framework for risk assessment, testing and monitoring activities. The Practices team partners with the Chief Compliance Officers across the firm in the development and enhancement of the standards and practices, and with the Compliance Business Infrastructure team in the design of the needed tools to support the framework.

Position Description

This role provides the opportunity to participate in the development of a best in class Global Compliance Quality Assurance (QA) function with responsibility for implementing a QA program that provides effective oversight of Line of Business (LOB)/Regional compliance activities globally. The primary objectives of the QA function are to ensure high quality and consistent execution of Compliance practices across LOB/ Regional programs and jurisdictions, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of such practices. The role will be accountable for conducting QA reviews and analyzing results so as to identify specific compliance gaps/ exceptions/ weaknesses and develop recommendations and guidance on best practices to continually enhance the effectiveness of execution and standards of such practices. The position will also be responsible for related reporting of QA results and escalation of issues arising from test activity so as to identify emerging risks and compliance trends. The role will involve close collaboration with LOB/ Regional Compliance Teams to deliver output that ensures transparency and identification of Compliance risk.

Responsibilities

- Assist in the design, scoping and implementation of a strong Compliance QA program to ensure risk-based coverage, meaningful analysis and specific actionable recommendations with a focus on Consumer Compliance activities and the corresponding Consumer related laws and regulations;

- Define QA processes including required test/review activities and deliverables; estimate QA effort and provide review schedule and execution plan;

- Execute QA reviews with a focus on Consumer and cross LOB Compliance practices, and serve as an escalation point for issues arising from quality assurance efforts, including development of best practices guidance based on results;

- Report on QA results and related metrics;

- Work collaboratively across the organization in connection with Compliance Framework enhancement efforts to implement a program that applies best practices and considers changing regulatory standards so as to provide flexibility to execute across the businesses and countries in which the firm operates;

- Keep abreast of global industry and regulatory developments regarding compliance design promoting an environment with leading edge compliance risk management practices and tools;

- Work with Training partners to develop/enhance ongoing relevant training programs for Compliance professionals taking into account lessons learned from QA activities;

- Build and maintain key relationships across the Compliance department, promoting a culture of engagement and connectivity; and

- Positively and creatively influence change and help champion mission critical change initiatives; prepare and help others to anticipate and manage through change.
