Alfa Laval is looking for two new members to our team of Global Strategic Purchasers. The benefit of the purchasing work is critical for improving the competitiveness of Alfa Laval. Two of our team members have moved on and therefore we are looking for new enthusiastic members to the commodity group “Machining, Forming Fabrication”.

Job description and background
Our commodity group ‘Machining, Forming and
Fabrications’ is responsible for securing a competitive sourcing of Alfa Laval’s needs. We represent more than 25% of the total purchasing volume in Alfa Laval Operations. The area of responsibility for these positions lays in the range 40-60 MEUR. The job includes creating new opportunities, negotiating and maintaining commercial agreements and contracts. An important part of the job is to be updated on the international metal market and to be a professional counterpart to the suppliers.

Qualifications
We expect you to be a commercially driven engineer. You have a university degree combined with several years of commercial experience from purchasing but preferably also from sales or marketing. You have substantial negotiating skills and experience. You must be a good team-player eager to get good knowledge of our products.

You achieve results through close co-operation with our manufacturing sites, material experts, the global purchasing offices, the marketing and RD organizations. Strong interpersonal skills enable you to co-operate and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
 You find opportunities and operate various activities in an efficient and persistent way, yet with an understanding of the importance of showing respect and taking into account various internal parameters.

The position requires 50-70 traveling days per year. English is the business language. The positions can be based at one of our sites Lund or Tumba.
