Java Web Application Developer, Web Technologies, DTS Engineering Architecture - Application Services Engineering
Distributed Technology Services Engineering Architecture (DTS EA) is responsible for developing infrastructure services and solutions for JPMorgan Chase working in collaboration with Business and Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) technologists. The organization drives product management, engineering standards and productivity initiatives for global server and storage technologies across the firm, as well as managing selected application services, including web hosting, middleware, messaging and database management.
In the role of Web Application Developer, you will:Manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle (Requirements, Analysis and Design, Implementation, Testing and Maintenance)Work with customers in clearly defining and documenting technical and business requirements.Translates requirements into technical designs with minimal supervisionParticipate in software development and code reviews to ensure all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.Conduct Unit Testing and System Integration Testing.Deliver detailed documentation (System Requirement Specification, Use Cases, Designs, User Guides, Test Plans/Cases, and Support Guide) for each project.Provide 4th level application support.Work with project management resources in providing detailed timelines for project deliverables.Work with MSA Vendor in providing onshore support and conduct system integration testing.Provide regular detailed management status reports on projects.Identify efficiencies and ways to improve design and development processes.

Qualifications
Technical Skills Experience:Strong experience in Application Development.Extensive Java and J2EE development experience, preferably gained on complex multi-tier web-based business applications.In depth knowledge and experience of working with Spring, Hibernate, Struts2, Maven, SQL, XML, Tag Libraries, JUnit, Web Services.Extensive experience in supporting, modifying and maintaining systems and code developed by others.In-depth knowledge and hands on experience in Java 6.0, XML, CSS, AJAX, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, Design Patterns.Strong database development skills (SQL, PL/SQL
in Oracle).Good knowledge and experience of software development processes and methodologies.Experience using version control (preferable SVN) and JIRA bug tracking systems.Experience in UNIX commands and scripting advantage.Experience in any mainstream Web and Application server advantage. e.g. Apache and Tomcat.An understanding of Agile development methodologies.Soft Skills:Customers focus mindset.Self-starter, motivated, change agent.Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.Strong communication skills, both written and oral.Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment and handle multiple issues at one time.A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
