Description
To effectively manage the development of the BNY Mellon s position on a broad array of legislative and regulatory issues and to advance those positions to local and state legislators and regulators to advocate for favorable action that enables the Company to meet the demands of its customers for improved products and services and/or to improve corporate revenue and profits. The incumbent requires an extensive knowledge of the Corporation's businesses, products, services and strategies and detailed understanding of the federal, state and local legislative bodies and their processes. The incumbent must be able to develop legislative strategies and navigate the constantly changing dynamics involving the financial services industry, political and public relations considerations, and positioning of the firm and its interests. In the current environment and economic climate in which Congress is rewriting the rules governing the financial services industry, this senior government affairs professional will be critical to the success of the firm in protecting its existing business and in creating business opportunities. The incumbent must also be able to develop working relationships with contacts at all levels in government and within the corporation and must know the legal and regulatory framework within which the financial services industry operates.
Qualifications
Masters. 10 years experience. Experience in DC with state and federal regulators, etc. preferred.
