Governance Analyst recruitment

Position Description:

Wellington Management is one of the world's premier investment management organisations. We are a global, privately owned firm that is 100% focused on managing money for institutional investors and mutual fund sponsors. We are headquartered in Boston with ten affiliate offices in the United States and around the world.

We have a diversified, balanced, and growing business. Our clients are based in over 40 countries - more than one third of them are domiciled outside the US - and in total they have entrusted us to manage in excess of US$700 billion of their assets. On their behalf we manage portfolios focusing on equity, fixed income, currencies, commodities, real assets and active asset allocation, including hedge fund portfolios.

As part of the continued expansion of our pooled fund (WMP) business in EMEA, we are currently seeking to hire a Governance Analyst. This individual will report to WMP's Regional Manager in London and will manage WMP's governance agenda and governance reporting, with a primary focus on WMP's Luxembourg and Dublin domiciled UCITS funds. He/she will work closely with the cross-functional groups that support WMP, including WMP Fund Product Managers and Business Analysts, Legal Services, WMP Administration, and Compliance.

Key responsibilities will include:

Board Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all WMP Board members (both internal and external);
• Manage the agenda for WMP Board meetings;
• Provide the appropriate reporting and briefings to the Board members in order for them to fulfill their duties.

Board/Governance and Reporting
• Manage the process for all WMP Board Meetings and other governance driven meetings (e.g. Dublin Management Committee and Luxembourg Conducting Persons meetings);
• Prepare board materials for all WMP Board Meetings and other governance meetings;
• Review daily compliance, risk management and other results for all WMP funds (liaising with internal departments regarding validity/cause) and present issues, as appropriate, to the WMP team, conducting persons, and designated Directors;
• Provide assistance on compliance and regulatory reporting issues;
• Help to ensure consistency and best practice across WMP's compliance and regulatory reporting;
• Coordinate the receipt of compliance and other related reporting from internal departments;
• Proactively identify enhancements for reports and systems, and assist the cross-functional efforts to develop solutions.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for this position is likely to have 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including experience of mutual fund regulations (preferably EU) as well as strong academic credentials, demonstrated analytical and writing skills, effective communication and relationship management skills, and a high level of attention to detail. While this individual will work in a team oriented environment, many projects will be self-directed, often under strict deadline pressures. A solid understanding of financial markets would also be helpful.

Although this role will be based in London, the responsibilities are global in scope. The Governance Analyst will have the opportunity to work closely with individuals in Boston as well as individuals in Wellington's other global offices. Some flexibility in working hours will be required to accommodate the different time zones within which WMP and Wellington Management operate. Some international travel may be required.

Please note that we are only able to respond to successful applicants.
