Governance & Controls Manager VP

Overview:

A global bank is seeking a operational risk/governance controls manager to support the Legal risk, Governance Controls team. This is an initial 6 months contract paying within the region of £400 to £550 per day.

Job Duties:

1) Liaise with Operational Risk and Internal Audit around audits, risk management and adherence to policies and procedures globally.

2) Support the quarterly Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) process, drafting the returns to ensure operational risk events are addressed appropriately and reports are consistent in methodology and approach.

3) Assist with the development of Key Risk Scenarios for Legal to identify any potential legal risks to the firm.

4) Perform regular reviews within the department to ensure that all agreed Audit remediation actions and open audit points are completed and any process changes are adopted as BAU.

5) Assess proposed remedial actions to ensure solutions are well thought through, scalable and will address any similar or related issues.

6) Test and measure our compliance with all group Operational Risk policies (e.g. External Supplier Risk, Information Risk, Legal Risk etc).

7) Maintain, monitor and periodically review appropriate compliance with internal guidelines and external rules and regulations.

8) Manage relationships with a variety of control functions throughout the organization to ensure that the operating environment is optimized and compliant.

9) Work with the Information Risk Management (IRM) team to ensure record retention policies are up to date and enforced across the function.

10) Maintain proper controls over the quarterly and biannual risk reporting schedule as set out by the bank

11) Assist with the end to end process for collection, compilation and communication of risk related management information (MI) at a global, regional, business and board level.
