Gradient Coil Design Engineer Job
Responsibilities are presented for gradient coil design. Essential Responsibilities Electromagnetic design and analysis of gradient coils Test support for final assembly and functional test of gradient coils Root cause analysis for gradient coil and related MRI functional test failures Support for quality and/or reliability efforts Follow-up support for gradient coil installation productivity or failures at hospital site Preparation/presentation of design and analysis reports on gradient coils and interaction with magnet Develop product, component test and purchase specifications for gradient coils Design leadership of productivity projects (both product cost and life cycle cost reduction) Coordinate cross-functional design, analysis and testing. Support manufacturing lean initiatives Provide creative solutions to unstructured product design issues from both factory and field. Qualifications/Requirements: MS Physics, EE or related field Expericence 3 years minimum Ability to analyze and design complex products: - Electromagnetic design and analysis of gradient coils - Electromagnetic analysis of interactions between gradient coil and magnet - Root cause analysis of gradient coil defects and/or image quality defects due to gradient coil Flexibility in handling challenging, multi-tasking workload. Ability to work with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams. Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics PhD in Physics, EE or related field Five+ years experience with gradient coil design and manufacture Experience developing gradient coil design and/or analysis software Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Vector Fields, Ansoft, or ANSYS Experience in numerical analysis tools and optimization methods. Leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Capability to generate innovative concepts Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
