THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY, FEDERALLY FUNDED BY THE RAPID TECH – NATIONAL CENTER FOR RAPID TECHNOLOGIES GRANT, AND IS CONTINGENT UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF GRANT FUNDS.  Under direction from the Vice President for Instruction or other administrator assigned by the President, the responsibility of this position is to plan, develop, organize, coordinate and direct the programs, services, operations and activities of the federally-funded grant project, according to the terms of the SOCCCD Board-approved federal grant program operating at the assigned college; manage project budget; prepare and distribute invoices and periodic and annual reports as required; ensure compliance with District and College policies and procedures and applicable State and federal laws and regulations; train, assign, supervise and evaluate the work of assigned staff; coordinate federal grant activities with the Orange County business community and education partners.  The Director exercises functional and technical supervision over business, grant development, administrative support and other contracted personnel, including sub-award project directors and consultants.

Minimum Requirements:  

• Education/training equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with course work in industrial manufacturing technology or a closely related field or equivalent industry experience; and  

• At least five years of increasingly responsible experience in additive, advanced, or other related manufacturing technologies, including experience in a management role.

• Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, methods, and equipment. Modern principles, practices, methods and techniques of management. Operation of computers, peripherals and software programs, including database management, spreadsheet, word processing and specialized software. Oral and written communication skills. Planning and organizational skills. Preparation, publication and distribution of informational and promotional materials. Principles and practices of financial record keeping and reporting. Principles and practices of training, supervision and performance evaluation. Principals and procedures of product design. Principals and procedures related to technical aspects of grant project. Statistical procedures and mathematical concepts.

Salary Benefits:  

Range 07, starting salary is $78,473, 100.00% of Full-Time.  The District offers a comprehensive package of insurance benefits to eligible employees, which includes medical and dental insurance, a vision-care plan, life insurance and dependent life coverage, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, and a long-term disability income-protection, and a legal plan. All premiums are fully paid by the District.  Retirement benefits through CalPERS.
