The Opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity to join a small team of programmers based in London and play a key role in the design and development of a market leading Commodities DMA platform from scratch. This opportunity would suit a highly motivated, career hungry programmer who has worked on E-Trading/Connectivity/DMA platforms for a number of years and is ready to take on to a more challenging and high visibility project, where they can make a big impact.
You will be critical in design discussions around the design of the application and key components, which will be in Java and FIX with Python and Flex to a lesser degree. The majority of work is server side, however the GUI is built in Flex and some exposure would be useful but by no means essential. Taking full ownership of the end to end design and delivery of components. As a programmer you need to demonstrate a high level of competency in building and delivering high quality, real time, mission critical software in the electronic trading space.
If you have some experience of DMA and client facing technology that would be very useful, however solid experience and understanding of any of the following; Connectivity, Trade Processing, Order Management or E-Trading, will be sufficient.
Strong analytical skills are useful as you will work alongside the Quants Traders. Having some Commodities business knowledge is useful, FICC E-Trading would be the next logical market, however any product will be considered.
As this will be a very high profile project this would be an excellent and progressive career move for any ambitious programmer looking to work on a project that will dramatically impact a business.
