Greenfield Electronic-Trading System – Functional Programming – No Finance Experience Required recruitment
My client is a Tier 1 Investment Bank based in Canary Wharf. They are seeking an exceptional OO Software Engineer to work with the business in the creation of a new Electronic-Trading platform.
This is a genuine opportunity to work for one of the City’s leading Front Office technology teams. Here the chosen candidate will gain exposure to the banks core trading systems and more specifically contribute to the design and development of their FX trading engine.
The chosen candidate will have an outstanding aptitude and track record for analytical and practical problem solving in a commercial setting, as well as the following:
- Exceptional knowledge of C++, C# or Java.
- Any functional programming experience in F#, Haskell, OCaml, Clojure, Erlang etc is a bonus.
- Any previous experience working with WPF/XAML, Hadoop, Apache Camel, Lucene is also considered highly advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of the principles of OOA/D, data modelling, database design, data structures and algorithms.
- Able to work in a mentoring/tutoring capacity to Junior Software Engineers
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Experience or interest in Agile development
