Group Financial Controller recruitment
The group is looking for a fully qualified FC to lead the company's financial accounting, reporting and control activities across the Group and to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice. The Role
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in compliance with IFRS.
- Ensure Group companies comply with local tax legislation and statutory financial reporting standards.
- Develop systems and procedures to ensure efficient and effective management of the company's resources.
- Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that Group’s Accounting policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Monitor and control a centralized accounting system to ensure that accounts are effectively managed.
- Produce monthly Shareholder Management reports and manage the preparation of other financial reports within agreed deadlines.
- Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls.
- Manage quarterly and annual audits for the holding company and local standalone entities.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate direct reports.
- Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff.
The Candidate
- Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent).
- Ability to focus on all details and capable of multitasking.
- Possesses excellent decision making skills.
- Previous experience in a similar position, including experience of providing Financial Control across a Group of companies.
- Sound and up to date knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- A minimum of 5 years experience of managing staff within the Finance department.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate Group meetings.
- Professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Able to handle pressure within a changing and fast paced commercial environment.
- Proactive and forward thinking - able to challenge and question the status quo.
