Group Media Relations Executive recruitment

Our client prestigious Financial Services organisation’s Insurance arm are on the search for an experienced Group Media Relations Executive with strong PR experience to join their Communications team.

Purpose of Role:
To support the Group Communications function – writing and planning corporate announcements, primarily focussed on the financial calendar
Manage the external reputation of the organisation through media management
Develop a strong news flow of business stories to illustrate business strategy and enhance corporate reputation
Develop a proactive media plan with regular business news flow
Communications counsel to the business
Build and establish relationships with the city, financial and trade media
Ensure timely and succinct briefings for Head of Group Media Relations, Director of Communications on success of all major pro-active campaigns and on any media issues affecting the Group
Plan a robust crisis communications plan and oversee lines to take - no media surprises for leadership of the organisation
Proactively monitor media for any opportunities or threats

Skills and experience required:

Financial Services experience is a must for this role

A strong background and track record in financial PR including financial calendar and transactions – preferably in a FTSE 100 / Group Communications role
A thorough working knowledge of Disclosure
Direct experience of managing media issues
An excellent working knowledge of the communications landscape and current affairs
Excellent written and communication skills – the ability to assimilate complex business messages and briefs and produce clear, concise materials
Ability to quickly understand and advise on complex business issues and a good instinct for what might become a media issue
Extensive experience in communications with significant experience in communications role and /or significant experience as a journalist
Developing communications strategies / plans in complex organisations
