Group Sanctions, Vice President

A globally recognised banking Group seeks a senior Sanctions Policy specialist to oversee the implementation of a Global Sanctions policy framework, covering multiple business lines. There is strong internal support for the bank to adopt high Financial Crime standards.

The Role:

To provide the bank with subject matter expertise and leadership in the field of sanctions. The nature of their business and scope of the coverage places sanctions at the heart of their Financial Crime programme, and the successful candidate will need thorough knowledge of EU, OFAC and UN regulation

The main responsibilities include:
1. To provide oversight and management of the sanctions programme, leading the development of internal controls in relation to existing and upstream sanctions regulation
2. To act as a subject matter expert on sanctions for any queries escalated through the business
3. Assurance – to ensure that the relevant sanctions policies are being correctly and effectively implemented across the region, with due consideration to Group policy and local regulatory standards
4. To lead investigations into suspicious transactions
5. To conduct an annual risk assessment for the bank’s sanctions exposure
.
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have considerable sanctions coverage, and knowledge of markets outside the EU. They will be responsible at a senior capacity for the sanctions programme and will hence need specialist experience in this field.
