Position overview:
The Domain Architect helps ensure that common architecture decisions are implemented consistently in projects across business and IT in order to support the business and IT strategy. To do so, the Domain Architect performs or guides efforts to create IT blueprints that are appropriate for the business and IT strategies in one or more domains. This includes working with stakeholders to derive and define an IT strategy and blueprint for the Domain. This role supports, resolves and documents issues that arise in the architecture. This may include reviewing designs and recommending improvements to the architecture. Domain Architect role will be responsible for the overall performance, standards and direction of the Architecture covering functional, business process-related, data-related and technology aspects depending on the scope of the domain.
The candidate will be working as part of the Asia Regulatory Reporting Team. The programme has been established to provide a scalable automated Regulatory Reporting solution to Deutsche Bank targeting both GBS transactional regulatory reporting, as well as financial regulatory reporting for 15 in-scope locations over a period of 3 years.
Job responsibilities:
- Develops and documents current and future state domain architecture blueprint and reference architectures in collaboration with the Enterprise Architect and the respective Solution Architects.
- Defines a migration roadmap for prioritizing IT investments based on the gaps between the current and future statesAssesses new business trends as well as new technologies and software products collaboratively with related stakeholders and develops solutions appropriate to business requirements for the particular domain.
- Business and functional domain architects are responsible for definition of functional, business-process-related and data-related aspects of architecture definition. (E.g defines together with project stakeholders incl. the Solution Architect in which areas new functionality has to be built or relocated.)
- Technical Domain Architects are responsible for the technology and infrastructure related aspects of architecture designs.
- Jointly with Solution Architect ensure technology and infrastructure alignment of all applications and services in the domain
- Ensures alignment of projects to future state domain architecture
- Contributes to creation of enterprise architecture blueprint
- Responsible for discovering, promoting and executing SOA solutions and reusable software components/functions.
- Contributes to architecture communities.

- Researches, verifies and gains buy-in to the key business objectives and processes that the architecture is to support.
- Functional Focused Tasks / Responsibilities -
- Responsible for defining mechanisms, processes and tools within a specific functional Domain to enable other domain architects to apply them.
- Technical Focused Tasks / Responsibilities -
- Maps application domain components defined by the functional architects into a set of technology components.
Candidate requirements
- Overall 8-15 years experience in IT delivery and architecture, of which at least 3-5 years as an Architect and 3-5 years in IT Delivery as a Program Manager, and at least 3-5 years of relevant Business Domain experience
- Minimum of 8 years experience in business analysis, IT planning and design with a cohesive vision of key business challenges with major focus in the same business area and domain
- Proven ability to upwardly influence the strategic direction of business IT solutions
- Ability to work in fast paced environment with competing and alternating priorities and a constant focus on delivery
- Proven ability to balance business demands and IT fulfillment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility
- Proven ability to relate and adapt vision and strategy to the external environment that affects the organization in terms of economic climate, customer market demand, regulation and other legalities, geography, political, culture, labor, technology
- Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or an IT-related discipline (or equivalent diploma)
- Good knowledge and working experience within the banking domain with proficiency in front-to-back data flows.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Data Architecture and Business Intelligence solutions (ideally in the regulatory reporting domain)
- Confident and Clear communicator - should have the ability to establish strong working relationships with both the business and technical teams, communicate patterns within the domain and contribute to the architectural and data communities within the Bank.
- Very good inter-personal skills and willingness to take on responsibility and ownership. They must be able to develop conceptual and logical schemas and have experience physical schemas best practices
- Being familiar with TOGAF views and tools such as Erwin and Sparx will be of benefit but is by no means a pre-requisite
- Have experience of developing conceptual and logical schemas physical schemas best practices
- Various object and multi-dimensional implementations and various database configurations that represent the geography and clients in Asia Pacific.
- At least 5 years of IT Data Architecture experience and 7 Years in the Banking IT industry.
- Experience of working in a culturally diverse and geographically distributed team
