Position overview:
The Operations Analyst undertakes the processing of transactions, events or data processing within a functional team. The payroll operations analyst will provide support to the payroll team with a monthly payroll of 2000+ employees in Singapore using ADP/SAP. This position carries out all administrative tasks associated with a busy payroll office taking into account legal and internal requirements.
Key Responsibilities/Requirements:
• Responsible for ensuring timely, complete and accurate processing of transactions (including performing all relevant controls) within own area of responsibility
• Applies all internal and external policies/guidelines and requirements of the regulators and to agreed SLAs, KRIs and/or KPIs and quality measures
• Provides input, as appropriate, to product / function development to ensure a superior offering in the face of changing client needs and market trends
• Ensures the escalation of operational, regulatory and other risks to line manager and functional leads as appropriate; contributes to the development and implementation of mitigation or control solutions
• Uses knowledge and experience from own area of responsibility to inform the design and implementation of strategies to eliminate waste and improve efficiency and performance of existing processes and reports
• Works effectively within own team, providing support and guidance to colleagues to create and foster an environment of continuous improvement
• Process monthly payroll including preparation of paperwork and data entry for all New Hires, Leavers and employee life cycle changes using ADP/SAP
• Preparation of all manual payments outside the normal pay run for post pay payments i.e. tax and manual termination pays
• Run reports as required from ADP/SAP
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of payroll clearing accounts and general ledger related activities for submission to risk management.
• Assist in documentation of all key payroll related procedures with periodic reviews to ensure internal and regulatory requirements are maintained
• Assist payroll manager as required
• Excellent customer service in answering all payroll queries through the shared payroll inbox and phone
• Working knowledge of all legislation requirements relating to payroll in Singapore and regionally
• Strong knowledge in Singapore Cessation and Year-end Tax processes
Candidate requirements:
• Relevant experience in one or more specific technical areas
• Minimum of 5 years experience in payroll or finance related environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP Payroll
• Excellent team player
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels both face to face and via telephone and email
• Product and system knowledge in the product line
• Basic analytical skills, flexible regarding production problem solving
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and local language (written/verbal) as appropriate
• Ability to work in virtual teams and in a matrix organizations
• Excellent team worker, able to work in virtual global teams and a matrix organization
• Ability to work in fast paced environment, keep pace with technical innovation and maintain a broad understanding of the GBS offering
• Open minded, able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members
• Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent)
