Position overview:
The People Development Manager is responsible for partnering at a strategic level with their respective Leadership team to provision and drive domain specific based programs, people platforms, and delivery platforms to enhance our capability, engagement and effectiveness. The People Development Manager interfaces with Global HR Business Partners as well as their Leadership team to align business goals and strategy with the workforce strategy ensuring we cultivate a high performance culture.
The People Development Manager ensures the GTO people process framework is embedded in the way GTO manages it people delivering a consistent group-wide approach to all workforce initiatives.
Job responsibilities:
- Craft a comprehensive workforce capability vision and strategic roadmap that results in significant and measurable improvements in performance and effectiveness while deeply understanding the development needs for each of the business units.
- Efficiently and effectively guide internal and external resources to create leading edge profession based solutions utilising a variety of delivery mediums that optimises knowledge transfer
- Create approaches, frameworks and tools to drive engagement and collaboration in the workplace
- Continuously improve and evolve the Talent Academy Platform
- Collaborate and support HR and the global graduate program team with delivering an effective graduate program across GTO
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that profession based programmes are designed, developed deployed with the appropriate expertise, resources and focus
- Establish, improve and communicate Workforce Capability, Employee Engagement and Effectiveness metrics, analytics and project dashboards that provide management and key stakeholders with quantifiable gauges of results
- Align people management approach and strategy to GTO strategy and objectives
- Actively advise the respective leadership team on change management, culture development, talent management, performance management, and competency management, fostering commitment, engagement and enablement within the business.
- Manage delivery, service levels and assessment against defined development priorities of business
- Design and drive change leadership initiatives across the respective leadership team, in line with the GTO imperatives
- Maintain relevant external networks and connections to ensure advances in People Development, Performance, Competency and Talent Management, are captured, considered and integrated into our people processes
- Define, design and continuously improve standards for all People Development initiatives
- Ensure DB standards are upheld in all facets of design, development and delivery
High Performance Culture Responsibilities:
- Create an environment where people management and development is the number one priority. Empowers, manages, coaches direct reports and others in the organisation.
- Actively communicates and cascades the GTO strategy, plans and values at all levels in the organisation driving a high performance culture, enabling effective navigation of the organisation, and supporting efficient decision making.
- Drives the achievement of high performance through effective career management of direct reports, providing equitable opportunities, supporting succession planning and talent management processes to ensure continuous development of people capability delivery of results.
- Acts as a management role model, communicating SMART business driven objectives at the beginning of the year, ensuring every team member has regular, continuous and constructive performance reviews, encouraging career development, nurturing talent and fostering diversity.
- Proactively manages tough people decisions to ensure people performance is aligned with organisation imperatives and needs. Addresses individual performance issues, where necessary, to drive for high performance.
Candidate requirements:
- Relevant experience in HR, Talent/Performance/Acquisition Management Role
Relevant managerial experience
Relationship management expertise - Ability to think strategically
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Self-awareness and self-regulation when providing leadership to the organization.
- Manage diverse relationships inside and outside organization
- Well developed skills in empathy when communicating with people
- High levels of adaptability and agility
- Ability to work in highly matrixed organization
- Relevant HR Employment practice knowledge in responsible geographies
- Advanced facilitation and collaboration skills
- Bachelor or Masters Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Human Resources, Organizational Design, Organizational Psychology, Adult Education (or similar qualification/equivalent work experiences)
