Position overview:

The Vendor Management and Performance Specialist supports the design and execution of sourcing strategies aligned with client and investment/ROI standards. The Vendor Management and Performance Specialist also undertakes the daily workload, activities and tasks of the supply chain management functions in establishing, monitoring, and optimising vendor relationships. The Vendor Management and Performance Specialist can be aligned to a specific function e.g. Contract Governance but will be encouraged to build a fuller set of skills and experience to support the end-to-end supply chain, cross-functionally.
Job responsibilities:

• Supports the vendor relationship teams to deliver to defined strategies and plans. Contributes to strategy definition and communication
• Defines and documents expected service expectations and products to be delivered by vendor and those to be delivered by DB to provide a complete service experience for client
• Manages vendor issues to resolve appropriately and escalates to senior management, where needed
• Builds and maintains methods of vendor performance and financial data monitoring sufficient for trend analysis, benchmarking and recommendations, including high quality management information appropriate for up to Executive Committee review
• Together with service owner, establishes and on an ongoing basis carries out analysis of vendor performance to ensure compliance against contracted service levels and continuous improvement
• Delivers operational and project management of continuous improvement activities in vendor relationship management and internal processes. This will include leadership, capturing requirements and co-ordination with a broad range of DB and Vendor stakeholders.
• Provides expertise in DB contract templates and frameworks throughout their lifecycle including renewal activity. Supports the transition to and maintenance of Master Service Agreements and rate cards
• Contributes to the build and enablement of a standardised set of procedures and tools to reduce complexity
• Supports clients and peers with sourcing activities – promoting standardised processes and best practices. Understands client’s requirements, vision and promote ‘win-win’ outcomes
• Understands sourcing strategies and communicates/translates this understanding into thought leadership
• Monitors costs and return on investment for sourcing arrangements in accordance with investment governance standards. Identifies, communicates and mitigates risk
• Provides input to establish criteria for evaluating vendors, supports the selection process and promotes implementation of these criteria
• Runs RFX (RFP/RFI) processes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Provides business analysis and project management skills to co-ordinate the Integrated Sourcing Teams (ISTs) in the negotiation, set up, and maintenance of commercial contracts, to include service level agreements and other relevant key performance indicators content
• Identifies and manages potential risks within sourcing arrangements, service (and operating) level agreements, to ensure tracking and resolution by vendors or otherwise. Will include the definition and assessment of tactical and strategic mitigation methods
• Ensures compliance with DB defined governance, relevant training and maintains awareness of regional (local) and industry governing bodies’ standards
• Engages in vendor benchmarking to define requirements, provision, ratifies and communicates conclusions
• Organises and delivers sourcing training workshops and lessons learned for vendor management and sourcing
• Supports supply chain risk management in promoting good practices and providing early risk/issue identification and mitigation, with appropriate escalation

Candidate requirements:

• Significant experience (or comparable track record) in vendor management, sourcing initiatives and project management
• Significant experience in Service Level Agreement (SLA) Management
• Exposure to a broad network within Deutsche Bank
• Experience working in virtual teams and matrix managed organizations
• Graduate, MBA or Business Degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent Diploma/ work experience)
