GSS Technology – Product Development Business Analyst recruitment

The Global Securities Services group (GSS) within Equities division, is a fast paced technology driven business area, with a long track record of sustained growth within Goldman Sachs and the industry. It provides first-class client services to our institutional and hedge fund clients; providing a range of services from stock lending, securities custody, risk management and margin financing, and execution and clearing services.

The Prime Clearing Technology (PCT) team in GSS is responsible for developing and maintaining the prime brokerage and futures suite of applications which cover areas such as external client reporting, custody, portfolio management and accounting, trade processing and booking to settlement factories and client services representatives’ applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role is for a technology Product Development Business Analyst in the Client Technology team which has a bias on building external client facing applications for reporting and/or analysis.

Principal responsibilities:

Business Analysis:
• Analyze and recommend functional solutions for business needs working with the business product development teams and/or customer relationship team for futures clearing and prime brokerage eg., work on the ergonomic design of a new portal page; work on what reporting a client would need for a new product
• Evaluate client/business requirements within a commercial context; create functional specification for Technology for client-facing initiatives
• Ensure that existing products are enhanced and updated for increased client benefit – working with business to look for continual improvement in the GS offering
• Act as subject matter expert for any streams that have client-facing impact

Project Management
• Partner closely with stakeholders to coordinate the project and enhancements prioritisation
• Work closely with technology development teams to manage resources and project timelines
• Create and implement a strategy for product deployment and support
• Work closely with our client facing technology support teams to drive resolution of client issues with any new or changed product offering

Testing and sign off
• Perform functional testing and checkout for all client-facing releases
• Assist in impact analysis for releases to ensure no negative client impact
• Working with the business to agree testing and results meet success criteria defined
• Dealing with our client’s  technology teams in relation to integration testing of new product offerings

Communication
• Communicate status on all client-facing projects to stakeholders
• Analyze and report metrics for client product usage
• Provide training on client products for internal external users, including product guides release notes
• Run demos and create marketing documents for clients; assist in client pitches RFP process related to client offering

• Although role is not a pure development one – the individual will work closely with development teams and will need to be functional and technology savvy to be able to have discussions with these teams

• Working knowledge of UNIX
• Strong team player (required to work extensively with other teams both locally and globally
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong documentation skills – being able to translate ideas and concepts into readable documents and presentations

STRONGLY PREFERRED
• Experience of web/portal technologies and
• Experience of financial markets in general and in particular futures clearing
• Multi-asset class knowledge in both a listed or OTC environment

PREFERRED
• Some hands-on development experience in  client facing applications eg., portal or reporting applications
• Experience of financial markets in general and in particular prime brokerage
