The Little Gym is the world’s leading motor skills development programme for children aged 4 months to 12 years.  The programme uses gymnastics as a tool for teaching children motor skills together with exclusive music and activities including balls and games to help enhance physical, emotional, perceptual, social and cognitive development.

The Little Gym of Harpenden opened in March 2009 and has over 550 members and a fantastic reputation in the area as a leading childrens' program. 

In addition to the core programme of class, highly successful Birthday Parties – four every weekend – are run for member and non-member children aged 1 to 12 years,

The team are looking to recruit someone who can be in charge of the facility on Saturday afternoons and Sundays.  The role also includes working in our classes on a Mondays from 3.15pm – 6.15pm.  This role of Birthday Parties Lead Instructor would suit a physically fit, energetic and enthusiastic team player who has experience in supervision of a team, customer service and working with children.

 

Details of Position

 

We are looking for part-time lead instructor with excellent communication skills who will lead and assist in curriculum-based birthday parties.  This person will be responsible for all aspects of the facility and the communication with the parents.   The role requires around 15 hours per week at weekends and Monday afternoon.

Qualifications

 

The following attributes are essential:

 

A love of children and the ability to communicate with children of different ages.

An ability to provide excellent customer service

Experience working with children

A good telephone manner

 

The following would be an advantage:

 

An NVQ level 2 or 3 equivalent qualification in either sports or child development.

Gymnastics coaching qualification

Gymnastics ability

First Aid Qualification
