Sequenom is actively looking for a Manufacturing Engineer is to aid in the design, development, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing and supporting processes.  The Manufacturing Engineer will organize and support engineering activities and transfer from RD to manufacturing.  

Responsibilities:

·    Provide support for the development and production of products

·    Perform equipment, process and software qualifications and validations(IQ, OQ, PQ)

·    Gather and documents input from internal and external sources for the design of manufacturing equipment

·    Design mechanical/machined parts, assemblies, test fixtures and assembly jigs

·    Develop and document manufacturing processes

·    Design fixtures and mechanical assemblies and create product documentation including drawings, BOMs, and specifications

·    Actively participates in pre- and post-production troubleshooting of manufacturing problems

·    Design for manufacturing in a GMP environment

·    Participate in the resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Corrective Action Preventive Action(CAPA) activities

·       Analyze layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency of the facility

·       Determine parts and tool needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product  specifications. Makes schematics, diagrams, and assembly flow charts

·       Create detailed CAD drawing, diagrams, schematics and component specifications and manufacturing process work instructions

·        Identify and evaluate areas for process improvements

·       Work with other Operations personnel in developing cost reduction programs or process  improvements to ensure efficient operation

·        Investigate operational problems affecting production and deal with them in a prompt, systematic and methodical manner

·        Prepare cost estimates including estimated production times, staffing requirements and other related costs Establishes Material Component Specifications

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in engineering

·         1 to 3+ years of experience in Electromechanical Engineering

·         1 to 3+ years of experience with 3D CAD programs such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, ProE

·         Working knowledge of regulated design controls e.g. ISO 13485, cGMP is perferred

·         Experience in lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is a plus

·         Computer proficiency – MS Windows, MS Office Applications, MS Visio

·         Familiarity with precision gauges/mechanical, magnetic and optical control sensors
