Description The associate in this HE Loan Specialist II position will be responsible for accurate and timely approval, rejection, or qualification of Bank of America's Consumer Home Equity loan applications using an automated underwriting system. Complete review of Home Equity applications including verifying income, resolution of duplicate applications, investigation of fraud indicators, and adherence to Patriot ACT and residence verification procedures. Review of other contingencies including but not limited to appraisal, title, flood and hazard insurance requirements. Potential restructuring of the customers initial credit request to ensure that both bank and customers needs are met. Associates in this role will have heavy direct customer contact. They will initiate outbound calls to request income documentation, mortgage clarification, payoff information as well as any other outstanding contingencies. They will also negotiate and discuss counteroffers with customers. While in the HE Loan Specialist II role, the associate will process loans based on the recommendation by the automated evaluation system. The HE Loan Specialist II will have an intermediate dollar amount in lending authority. Knowledge of general bank policies, programs, and procedures. Excellent telephone and customer service skills. Highly effective oral and written communication skills. Proficient in math and computers. Strong attention to detail. Ability to review credit requests, analyze multiple data sources, and deliver application decisions. Works well both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates initiative, ability to manage multiple queues, set priorities and meet goals. Requires minimal supervision. Strong negotiating and decision-making skills. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Capacity to work directly with associates and internal departments. These roles can be filled with OL123 (HE Home Services Specialist I -Band 7) or a OL124 (HE Home Services Specialist II - Band 6). This position may be subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all applicants for employment who will be engaged in residential loan mortgage originations (as defined by the SAFE Act) must register with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE ACT requirements. If at any time the Bank determines that your position requires SAFE Act registration, you will be required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your eligibility for continued employment and may result in your immediate termination.
