Head of AML Assurance
Leading investment bank, seeks an experienced AML Assurance Champion as a part of its leadership team at director level.
Reporting to the head of financial crime compliance, and responsible for designing and delivering Global AML monitoring and assurance projects. You will act as the subject matter expert, utilising your in-depth knowledge of the global AML regulatory environment and experience of risks including AML, Sanctions and Anti bribery and Corruption (ABC).
The role requires exceptional experience in owning large and complex monitoring portfolios, excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills gained within complex financial services. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead an ambitious team within a leading organisation.
-Experience designing risk based AML/STF/ ABC assurance plans within the complex financial services institution
-Solid experience of leading the delivery of AML/ STF/ ABC assurance plans, ideally within a banking or financial services environment
-Strong understanding of investment banking (including product and service offerings, and AML/STF systems and processes)
-Demonstrable working knowledge of AML/STF/ABC risks affecting the financial services industry, and specifically in relation to investment banking
-Proven ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in AML/STF risk management policies, procedures and systems, design appropriate solutions (both tactical and strategic) and then successfully deliver on these improvements through both individual and team efforts
-Strong project management skills, demonstrating an ability to manage multiple tasks through effective prioritisation to ensure target deadlines are achieved
-Experience of providing challenge to others, including senior management, and advising on best practice
-Strong analytical skills to enable the identification of AML/STF/ABC issues and trends from multiple sources of information, provide guidance on key risk areas and advise on possible themes for senior management focus
-Solid experience of communicating complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences and in a variety of ways (including written reports)

-Robust understanding of AML/STF/ABC regulatory landscape
-Proven ability to think strategically and to translate concepts into effective processes
-Solid experience of working with multiple teams/ individuals to achieve results whilst managing expectations
-Effective influencing and conflict resolution skills
-Ability to successfully deliver both BAU and ad hoc accountabilities to the highest standards, while managing multiple agendas and stakeholder requirements
-Strong people management skills to direct and develop a multi-geographical, where required, team of subject matter experts in order to achieve organisational goals and objectives
