Head of Audit
My client a Leading Global Insurance firm, headquatered in the USA are seeking to hire the Head of Audit. This is a key hire with a wide ranging remit that will have a direct impact on the organisations global operations. The focus of the role will be to lead the Financial Controls uinit, ensuring complaince with the SOX and Model Audit rule programes and achieving the overall objective of maintaining a strong internal control environment.
In addition the role is responsible for oversigth of SOX team leaders and other staff who carry out the following tasts.
- Review and Update detailed audit test programs, designed to achieve stated audit objectives
- Analyse, document, test and eveluate internal accounting controls systems through interviews, observations and records examination
- Examine, analyse and test general computer and aplication controls using auditor prepared programs.
- Prepare neat, concise and well organised audit work papers which support audit work performed and conclusions reached in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
- Maintain and update SOX documentation including test plans, narratives and flowcharts for all key business processes.
- Work with business units to determine remediation plans for all deficiencies noted durint the audit work.
- The position will work directly with internal management and external Auditors regarding compliance testing requirements.
The successful candidate will be degree educated, with recognised accounting qualification ACA or CPA, and have in excess of 10 years expereince ideally gained within a leading insurance firm or a global practice business.
