Head of Business Control EMEA recruitment
Role Purpose :
Performs a leadership role by monitoring control activities designed to minimise risks within the IMS Global Business Operations business across all Business Operation activities and locations including India and China.
Key Responsibilities :
• Designs and executes the Business Risk Monitoring Programme, an independent review of operational controls
• Reviews Key Risk Indicators including loss/error reports and drives continuous improvement
• Liaises with Risk Management, coordinating the completion of Corporate Risk assessments such as RCSA RMSAP
• Liaises with Corporate Compliance and Information Security to ensure that policies, standards and guidelines are correctly and consistently implemented
• Liaises with Corporate Audit and other auditors, ensuring business readiness for any scheduled audits, monitoring of visits and ensures items identified are appropriately addressed
• Hosts and supports due diligence visits by Customers and/or their appointed agents, including SAS70/SSAE16
• Drives forward Operational Risk Projects as required
• Provides tracking of losses and breaches
• Provides pro-active input on Process Improvement working with the various Business Operations business units and other business areas i.e. client operations, on-boarding, training etc
• Participates in the development of New Business and Product Review Assessments (NBPRA’s)
• Provides senior management with regular updates on activities which are monitored by Business Control
• Provide business continuity oversight for IMS for the EMEA region. Work with Business Contingency Coordinator to solicit new BCPs when needed. Work with BCPs to ensure plan coverage.
Scope :
The role operates as a distinct function independent of the business operating units and reports directly to the Head of IMS Global Business Operations
Key Skills, Experience Qualifications :
• Degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent. An MBA or M.S. degree is preferred.
• Extensive proven related business, project management and/or consulting experience, ideally in financial services.
• Operational expertise in transfer agencies, trade operations/ global custody, fund administration/ financial reporting.
• Proven knowledge of international business practices.
• Solid understanding of traditional risk management and best practice theories.
• Excellent time management skills, along with strong problem resolution and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated negotiation, managerial and leadership skills.
• Ability to work at the highest levels of independence to gain credibility and respect with the client and within the State Street organization.
