Head of Credit, North Asia recruitment
This well regarded international Bank is keen to appoint a Head of Credit for the North Asia business given their focused mandate for growth within Asia. The role will be based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to spend some time at head office in order to build a senior level internal network and will also hold a level of client interaction day to day. The Approval limit will be determined by the successful candidates Credit experience within the North Asia region.
This head of Credit role requires the management of a portfolio of existing accounts and the assessment of new opportunities to ensure authorised frameworks and systems are effectively used in the management of risk/credit decisions so as to achieve an optimum outcome for the Group.
As a leadership role, the head of Credit will provide support and development opportunities for direct reports across Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Responsibilities:
- Understand relevant industry issues of the Asian market (in particular structured asset Finance, Property, Infrastructure Utilities and Natural Resource sectors) which might impact on credit quality and recommend appropriate changes to systems and/or policies and provide specialist industry advice to other areas of Risk management
- Leadership of the Credit team in Hong Kong and China
- Contribute toward the Business by providing support on credit proposals to make a bankable deal
- Identify and assess the risks which could prevent you from achieving the objectives of your role. On a regular basis, report and discuss the results of your findings
- Provide superior service aligned with the client’s and partner's needs and the organization’s business objectives
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in a finance discipline
- 15 years of Credit experience with specific emphasis on complex project financing which demonstrates the ability to partner with the business yet maintain independence
- Previous staff management experience
- Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin
