Job Description
Reports to: Head of Marketing, EMEA
This individual will manage all the various elements of an overall marketing strategy in close collaboration with the regional business heads, respective marketing region managers and the Head of Marketing, EMEA. He/she will help to develop, direct and drive all marketing activities towards the overall business/sales/revenue goals of the ETF and asset owner business lines. He/she will strive to keep abreast of all industry and channel trends, market climates, competitive activities, and recommend ways to leverage opportunities or lesson negative impact of challenging markets.
This is a hands-on position that touches all facets of plan development and implementation; monitors progress and recommends new initiatives or resets expectations and priorities. The candidate will works with limited supervision and require an independent decision making capability, though must work well as part of a team and manage others to bring results.
The position will manage a team of five covering expertise in events, design, online, media planning and communications. Additionally the role will be a senior member of the EMEA marketing team and will be expected to provide strategic input and support to the overall marketing agenda.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Strategic Planning
Work with others to coordinate the development of annual marketing plan and quarterly marketing drive plans. Key liaison and marketing representative for product line within larger organisation, sales staff, key distributors and external vendors.
Public Relations
Coordinate overall public relations effort with internal department or external partner (as appropriate) including:
• media exposure, relationship management and tracking
• press release/Internet strategies
• media message development
• event planning
• crisis communication planning
• speaking engagements
• manage spokespeople
• engage with global team to align company line/position on key global issues
Website/Digital
Coordinate the establishment and maintenance of a web presence as an effective marketing and sales tool. A marketing brief will be composed to develop a comprehensive strategy, develop target attributes and focus resource allocation. Key areas may include:
• target audience
• message development
• security
• tiered site content
• interactive components/sites
• push/pull strategies
• advertising
• hit tracking
Sales Support
Oversee development and launch of value-added sales and marketing tools through close interaction and communication with field sales staff and senior management. Activities may include:
• educational programs and value-added content packaging
• prospecting tool development
• database development and data mining
Communications
Oversee brand development/maintenance and management of all tactical marketing components, including:
• advertising/media planning and adherence to global brand standards
• literature systems
• direct marketing strategies (data mining and mail, web, newsletter, e-mail, etc. campaigns)
Events and Conferences
Coordinate tactical marketing programs including:
• trade show/conference planning
• premium items
• client/prospect events
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Relevant experience in a senior strategic marketing role
• Experience should include B2B financial services marketing; exposure to multiple channels including intermediary and institutional is a plus
• Proven project management skills
• Previous knowledge and experience of PR related disciplines
• Excellent leadership and management capabilities with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team
• Ability to manage multiple projects (both print and online) at any given time with multiple deadlines
• Ability to work with creative, legal/compliance, project managers, outside firms to ensure time lines and deadlines are met
• Experience in the production, coordination and trafficking of all marketing communications, including print, direct marketing campaigns, online, web, etc.
• Demonstrate persistent follow through and ability to juggle shifting priorities with ease
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
• Strong written, verbal, and communication skills a must
• Excellent relationship builder and collaborative team player
