Money Laundering Reporting Officer – International Corporate Bank

The Client:

A major overseas corporate bank, one of the largest banks in the world by market capitalisation. They offer a range of corporate banking products and services; with a heavy focus around trade finance. The bank has a very strong approach to tackling compliance, with significant backing from senior management.

The Role:

The MLRO position (overlooking Financial Crime responsibilities) has arisen due to the high amount of activity in the business.
As MLRO you will be reporting directly to the Head of Compliance and will overview a team of 4 more people covering general Compliance matters.
The role will require you to run the Financial Crime processes and procedures and put them in place across the organisation in accordance with the UK regulations. You will also be the main point of contact for all the financial crime queries and issues

AS MLRO your main responsibilities will be:

• Providing regulatory advice to senior management and the business regarding any matters related to Financial Crime Prevention Policies, AML, terrorist Financing, Fraud, High Risk customers, bribery and corruption, sanctions.
• Advising on the implementation of the new legislations according to the FCA regarding Financial crime and covering CF11 responsibilities
• Keeping senior management and staff informed about any changes and providing training to them when required
• Creating a strategy to prevent Money Laundering
• Investigating suspicious activities and reporting them to the relevant authorities when required
• Identifying Financial Crime risks for the business and assessing the business
• Keeping a good relationship with Regulatory Bodies
• Designing and structuring new products, services and systems
• Present the Annual Prevention of Money Laundering report to the CEO and the Board

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a hard-working individual … and will have the following attributes and experience:
• Excellent understanding of the FCA and PRA regulations
• Solid knowledge of Anti Money Laundering rules
• Strong proved experience in Financial Crime within retail and ideally currently CF11 holder
• Strong knowledge and experience dealing with Sanctions, Fraud and Anti Bribery and Corruption and high risk customers
• Fantastic communication skills (written and oral)
