Head of FPA - Insurance
A global Insurance business based in London are currently looking to hire a qualified accountant with commercial finance experience from the insurance sector to take on the position of Head of FPA. You will be responsible for servicing the reporting and analytical needs of the board, exec committee and the Investor Relations team.
The successful candidate will have the confidence to challenge both existing practices and the performance of the business units, assisting the Board and Executive Committee in value creating initiatives and decision making as well as creating and leading the production of Board level reporting and presentations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Key stakeholders include the Chief Finance Officer, key functional executives and the Board.
- Co-ordination of forecasting activity, the delivery of organisational level financial targets and the reporting and interpretation of business performance through in-depth analysis and review.
- Collation of financial trends and explanations for the current year, as well as leading multi year strategic reviews. The role also requires the co-ordination of Quarterly Business Reviews with business units, together with the provision of supporting analysis and presentations.
- This role requires the introduction and operation of appropriate control and risk mechanisms across the team to ensure that the forecasting process operates in accordance with risk and reporting control framework, and that all inputs and outputs are robust, timely and consistent.
- The successful applicant will be required to directly challenge business unit forecasting inputs and assumptions, utilising their experience and analytical capability to ensure that senior management team and Board have the confidence targets are stretching but achievable.
Requirements:
- Accountancy qualification, postgraduate numerate business qualification or relevant experience in commercial FPA roles
- An understanding of the financial dynamics of the insurance industry is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
