Within the Staff Function Health Safety we are looking for a
The location is Berlin or Stockholm.
Responsibilities
- To provide a day-to-day Health and Safety management support to the business division that is effective and suitable to support company objectives
- To ensure that Health and Safety behaviour is a mindset and attitude for all employees, instilled in all parts of organization and part of the overall business culture
- To identify and promote opportunities for Health and Safety performance improvement within the operating unit
- To ensure that Health and Safety requirements are widely and consistently understood and implemented
- To ensure technical integrity through all stages of project through the development and implementation of systems/programs
- To provide regular, reliable reports and data for monitoring Health and Safety performance and informing management decisions
Duties of the Role
- Management of the staff function Health and Safety department, day-to-day operations ensuring teamwork, high performance standards and targets are met
- Manages employees of the staff function Health and Safety department within a matrix environment
- Leadership, responsibility and approval authority for all aspects of Health and Safety including objectives, schedules / programs, plans, resources, documentation, file structures,
OHSAS 18001 compliance, Health and Safety legal compliance, incident response / investigation within the operating unit - Implementation, review and monitoring of Health and Safety component across the business division
- Maintain a daily working relationship with staff function Health and Safety team, line management and contractors in relation of their respective compliance with the provisions
of the Health and Safety policies and legal requirements - Participate in and where necessary lead the investigation of major incidents and high potential near misses
- Ensure operating unit and corporate objectives, policies and procedures are cascaded to and implemented on all projects
- Verify compliance by all appropriate means (meetings, inspections, monitoring, and audits)
- Inspects facilities / work sites, determines corrective or preventative measures, and works with line and project managers to ensure implementation of corrective actions / structures
Requirements
- Ability to work with people at all levels (staff, management, clients, contractors) to develop, maintain, communicate and implement the Health and Safety component
of the business throughout the operating unit - Ability to identify, develop and implement strategic Health and Safety improvements
- Ability to specify and manage the development of strategic solutions to Health and Safety problems
- Ability to manage and develop a team of Health and Safety professionals
- Understanding of certification processes and requirements (OHSAS 18001) and safety culture development processes (e.g. hearts and minds)
- Relevant university degree or diploma
- Several years of experience in Health and Safety management or qualified by many years of experience in Health and Safety environment
- Experience in the area of electrical or heat grids as well as knowledge about waste power plants is appreciated
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
