Our client is a large service sector business with operations across the North of England.
Due to continued expansion and new contract wins, they are looking to bring in a talented ACA accountant to join the corporate team.
Based out of Manchester this Head of Internal Audit job is critical to the future development of the business. It is a high profile role which has regular board exposure and recommendations made by the Head of Internal Audit will receive the full backing of senior management.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will ensure that the internal control environment (operational and financial) is robust and does not threaten the achievement of the business's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities will include the planning, performing and reporting of audits on a risk based approach, as well as performing ad-hoc project work and investigations. You will also look at the company's major projects and look at best practice and budgetary control.
You will direct and guide the Audit team to perform audits in accordance with your plan.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified ACA with a minimum of 2 years post qualified experience who has aspirations of progressing into a senior finance role within a large company. You may already be in an internal audit role and be looking for more responsibility, or you may be looking for your first move out of practice having attained a manager level post.
The role will involve approximately 30% travel across the North of England.
This role will develop your commercial awareness and understanding of senior management in a large business. Your recommendations will have a real impact on the future success of the business.
