Head of Operational Risk – Alternative Investments recruitment
We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operational Risk Manager to take responsibility for the management of operational risk throughout HAIL. Duties will include:
• Assist Head of ORIC GPB and CRO AIG and Senior Business Management to develop risk strategy
• Manage and control operational fiduciary risk in HSBC Alternative Inv Ltd and HSBC Management Guernsey including management of the Risk Function.
• Operate as the single point of accountability for establishing an effective integrated approach to manage risk within HAIL and HMG operating to HSBC Group Standards.
• Responsible for risk assessment and management processes for HAIL, HMG and the GPB hedge fund research activity in conjunction with function heads.
• Lead, maintain, oversee and mentor the Risk personnel to ensure standard of internal control is commensurate with the scale and nature of operations.
• Report on the adequacy of the internal control environment and on compliance with regulatory and Group requirements.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have a strong background in operational risk management, allied with a good knowledge of the alternatives funds industry, particularly Hedge Funds and Fund Administration industry. You will have some understanding of other areas of risk and knowledge of regulatory environment in the financial services sector. Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills will be prerequisite to your success in this high profile role.
