The Company

Our client is a medium sized insurer looking for a Head of Operations to join their growing team. This role will become an Executive Director Level role within 12 months of the appointment so the ideal candidate will be ready for this promotion at this time.

The Role

Function

To be responsible for the management of our client's operational functions including Claims Management, Products and Pricing and Helpline Services and Information Systems.

To contribute to the formulation and delivery of the clients strategy, mission and business objectives and to be accountable to the CEO for operational management objectives

To ensure that the CEO and Board are appraised of all advice and information relevant to the management of operational functional areas

Responsibilities

To contribute towards the determination of our clients corporate strategy and management of strategic and operational direction.

To manage the claims, product and pricing, IS and Helpline Services departments

To achieve the KPIs and operational objectives across all departments and manage against these objectives in accordance with treating customers fairly

To ensure that the claims service is delivered to agreed objectives

To ensure that household pricing is managed to ensure that the clients product is competitive but that customers make the right contributions for the risk that they represent

To oversee the development of new products and services to meet identified market opportunities

To ensure that the information Systems function is delivered to agreed objectives and the service standards required by internal clients

To ensure that the helpline services function is managed to the terms and service levels agreed between the clients and the unions it represents

To ensure a service based ethic and adherence to 'Insurance with Principals' is applied across all internal areas and through external suppliers

Actively participate at meetings of the board and appropriate Board committees and report to the Board and Board committees as and when requested

Undertake such other responsible duties as the CEO or the Board of Directors may from time to time determine

Salary Benefits

Salary up to £80,000 depending upon experience with executive director salary and package within 12 months
