Head of Risk Weighted Assets Controls recruitment
With Regulatory issues at the forefront of banking strategy, our client, a leading global banking group, are seeking an experienced controller to head up and build out a brand new RWA Controls Team within the investment banking division. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside first-rate specialists in an exceptional institution, and to cover a global remit for Markets FSA reporting.
Key responsibilities:
* Understand the drivers of business capital usage across different risk types and understand the impact of business plans on capital positions
* Produce weekly / monthly capital reports and explain key movements and produce detailed monthly reviews on a face to face basis with the business
* Ensure correct reporting of business RWAs through focus on data quality and control
* Introduce a Data Quality Dashboard that will support the business to drive data enhancements and improve the optimisation of capital usage
* Collaborate across the Regulatory Finance team, Business Decision Support teams, the wider Finance and Risk functions to identify any factors compromising data quality/relevance of capital information and actively work to resolve these
The RWA Controls Team is responsible for RWA and capital reporting and analysis, and the Head of Controls will be in a unique position to bridge both finance and risk disciplines and work with the Front Office, Executive Management, and the FSA to support the delivery of business objectives
Key skills required:
* Strong communication skills and experience in dealing with the investment banking business functions
* In depth Basel 2 Regulatory reporting experience and awareness of Basel 3 changes
* Strong knowledge of products and the impact of the regulatory rules
* Financial control / Reporting experience
* Track record in improving reporting and control processes
* Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA or overseas equivalent)
